कठोपनिषत्् (katha upanišad),-कठोपनिषत्् (valli VI), (S.-4, Ch.-6, V.-14) |
यदा सर्वे प्रमुच्यन्ते कामा येऽस्य हृदि श्रिताः । अथ मर्त्योऽमृतो भवत्यत्र ब्रह्म समश्नुते ॥ १४॥ |
yadā sarve pramucyante kāmā ye'sya hṛdi śritāḥ । atha martyo'mṛto bhavatyatra brahma samaśnute ॥ 14॥ |
yadā = when; sarve = all; kāmā = desires; pramucyante = fall off, are shed, liberated; ye = which; hṛdi śritāh = nestle within the heart i.e. the intellect; asya = of the one pre-enlightenment; atha = then; martyaḥ = a mortal; amrtaḥ bhavati = becomes immortal; atra = here itself; brahma samaśnute = attains the state of Brahman. |
When all the desires that dwell in the heart fall away, then the mortal becomes immortal and here attains Brahman.
