प्र ते ब्रवीमि तदु मे निबोध स्वर्ग्यमग्निं नचिकेतः प्रजानन् । अनन्तलोकाप्तिमथो प्रतिष्ठां विद्धि त्वमेतं निहितं गुहायाम् ॥ १४॥

pra te bravīmi tadu me nibodha svargyamagniṃ naciketaḥ prajānan । anantalokāptimatho pratiṣṭhāṃ viddhi tvametaṃ nihitaṃ guhāyām ॥ 14॥

Naciketas = O Naciketa; te = to you; pra-bravīmi = I shall say; me = from me; nibodha = listen with attention; tat u = that very thing, svargyam agnim = the Fire [meditation] that is the means for the attainment of heaven; I shall tell you, prajānan = being well aware of (it). That (Fire) which is ananta- lokāptim = the attainment of infinite world - viz heaven; atho = and also; pratiṣṭhāṃ = the support - of the universe in the form of Virāṭ (Cosmic Person) - etam = this Fire which is nihita guhāyām = abiding in the secret place (of the heart). The cave or the hiding-place is said to be in the centre of the chest - i.e. the heart
