अथासने दृधे योगी वशी हितमिताशनः । गुरूपदिष्टमार्गेण प्राणायामान्समभ्यसेत् ॥ २.१ ॥ |
svātmārāmaḥ
athāsane dṛdhe yogī vaśī hitamitāśanaḥ । gurūpadiṣṭamārgeṇa prāṇāyāmānsamabhyaset ॥ 2.1 ॥ |

Āsane - body posture
Dridha - fixed, solid, stable
1Yogī - yogi
Vaśī - dominates himself (spiritually and physically)
Hita - in favor of, healing, good
Mita - moderate
Aśanaḥ - food
Guru - teacher, master
Upadiṣṭa - was taught
Mārgeṇa - according to method, the way
Prāṇāyāmān - breathing, Pranayama
Samabhyaset - practice, practice || 1 ||

After having achieved perfection in Asanas (positions), a Yogi continues in the practice of Pranayama and of eatingh suitable, balanced food according to his master's instructions.
