गोधूमशालियवषाष्टिकशोभनान्नं क्षीराज्यखण्डनवनीतसिद्धामधूनि ।
शुण्ठीपटोलकफलादिकपञ्चशाकं मुद्गादिदिव्यं उदकं च यमीन्द्रपथ्यम् ॥ १.६५ ॥ |
godhūmaśāliyavaṣāṣṭikaśobhanānnaṃ kṣīrājyakhaṇḍanavanītasiddhāmadhūni ।
śuṇṭhīpaṭolakaphalādikapañcaśākaṃ mudgādidivyaṃ udakaṃ ca yamīndrapathyam ॥ 1.65 ॥ |
Go-dhūma - wheat
Śāli - Rice
Yava - barley
Ṣṭāṣṭika - a type of rice
Śobhana - excellent, beauty
Annaṁ - food
Kṣīra - milk
Ājya - clarified butter
Khaṇḍa - coarse-grained sugar, brown sugar
Nava-nīta - fresh butter
Siddhā - white candy sugar
Madhūni - honey
Śuṇṭhī - dry ginger
Paṭolaka - snake hair cucumber
Phala - fruit
Ādika - etc. and so on, and like that
Pañca - the five
Śākaṁ - green vegetable
Mudga - mung beans
Ādi - etc., and so on
Divyam - heavenly
Udakaṁ - water
Ca - and
Yamin - restraining, yogis
Indra - Loard of power
Pathyam - is good, suitable || 65 ||

Wheat, rice, barley, shâstik (a kind of rice), corn, milk, ghee, sugar, butter, sugarcane, honey, dried ginger, Parwal, etc. - these staple foods are very beneficial to those who practice yoga.
