पुष्टं सुमधुरं स्निग्धं गव्यं धातुप्रपोषणम् । मनोभिलषितं योग्यं योगी भोजनं आचरेत् ॥ १.६६ ॥ |
puṣṭaṃ sumadhuraṃ snigdhaṃ gavyaṃ dhātuprapoṣaṇam ।
manobhilaṣitaṃ yogyaṃ yogī bhojanaṃ ācaret ॥ 1.66 ॥ |
Pushtaṁ - rich, healthy
Su-madhuraṁ - with sweetness
Snigdhaṁ - moist, fatty
Gavyaṁ - Cow's milk
Dhātu - the live tissue
Praposhaṇam - nourishing
Manas - mind, heart, spirit
Abhilashitaṁ - desired, wish
Yogyaṁ - suitable
Yogī - yogi
Bhojanam - to eat food
Ācaret - to accept, to follow || 66 ||

|
A Yogî should eat nutritious, sweetened (tonics), oily (ghee), cow milk products - milk, butter, etc., which feed the dhatus and satisfy the mind.
