सुस्निग्धमधुराहारश्चतुर्थांशविवर्जितः ।
भुज्यते शिवसम्प्रीत्यै मिताहारः स उच्यते ॥ १.६० ॥ |
susnigdhamadhurāhāraścaturthāṃśavivarjitaḥ । bhujyate śivasamprītyai mitāhāraḥ sa ucyate ॥ 1.60 ॥

susnigdha - food with balanced fat;
madhura - sweet;
āhāraḥ - food;
caturtha - leaving a fourth;
aṁśa - part (1/4 part of capacity of stomach);
vivarjitaḥ - empty;
bhujyate - which is offered;
śiva - to the Śiva;
samprītyai - for complete pleasure;
mitáhárah - balanced food;
sa - this;
ucyaté - is called.

Yogic food (mitaharah) is slight oily and sweet. One-fourth of the capacity of the stomach is always left empty in the name of Shiva, with great pleasure.
