नासाग्रे विन्यसेद्राजदन्तमूले तु जिह्वया ।
उत्तम्भ्य चिबुकं वक्षस्युत्थाप्य्पवनं शनैः ॥ १.४८ ॥ |
nāsāgre vinyasedrājadantamūle tu jihvayā ।
uttambhya cibukaṃ vakṣasyutthāpypavanaṃ śanaiḥ ॥ 1.48 ॥

Nāsā - the nose;
Agre - to the tip, front;
Vinyased - to put, fo fix;
Rāja-danta - incisors (king teeth);
Mūle - root, the origin;
Tu - but, however;
Jihvayā - with the tongue;
Uttambhya - pushing;
Cibukaṁ - chin;
Vakṣasi - on the chest;
Utthāpya - raising;
Pavanaṁ - air, breath, Prána;
Śanaiḥ - slowly;

[...both eyes] gaze at the tip of the nose, keeping the tongue pressed against the roots of the upper incisors and the chin against the chest (the manubrium of the chest bone), and slowly the air rises (one exhales).
