किं अन्यैर्बहुभिः पीठैः सिद्धे सिद्धासने सति ।
प्राणानिले सावधाने बद्धे केवलकुम्भके ।
उत्पद्यते निरायासात्स्वयं एवोन्मनी कला ॥ १.४३ ॥ |
kiṃ anyairbahubhiḥ pīṭhaiḥ siddhe siddhāsane sati ।
prāṇānile sāvadhāne baddhe kevalakumbhake ।
utpadyate nirāyāsātsvayaṃ evonmanī kalā ॥ 1.43 ॥ |

Anyaiḥ - Other;
Bahubhiḥ - by many;
Pīthaiḥ - Body positions;
Siddhe - perfected;
Siddhāsane - Siddhasana;
Sati - is, as;
Prāṇa - Prana energy self;
Anile - air, breath;
Sa-avadhāne - attentive, careful, with attention;
Baddhe - restrained, stopped;
Kevala - only one;
Kumbhake - to retain inhale;
Utpadyate - then after that;
Nir-āyāsāt - without exertion, without fatigue;
Svayam - by oneself;
Eva - even, truly;
Unmaní - excite;;
Kalā - phase of moon.

When success has been achieved by the proper performance of Siddhásana, and Prána Vâyû has been restrained by Kevala Kumbhaka, all other ásanas can be considered unncessary. The fruits of such Siddhâsana practice emerge like the phases of the Moon, automatically.
