अवध्यः सर्वशस्त्राणां अशक्यः सर्वदेहिनाम् ।
अग्राह्यो मन्त्रयन्त्राणां योगी युक्तः समाधिना ॥ ४.११३ ॥ |
avadhyaḥ sarvaśastrāṇāṃ aśakyaḥ sarvadehinām ।
agrāhyo mantrayantrāṇāṃ yogī yuktaḥ samādhinā ॥ 4.113 ॥ |
Avadhyaḥ: is not to kill, invulnerable (Avadhya)
Sarva: (with respect to) all (sarva)
Śastrāṇām: Weapons (Shastra)
Aśakyaḥ: not to dominate, invincible (Ashakya)
Sarva: (with respect to) all
Dehinām: embodied being (dehin)
Agrāhyaḥ: not to manipulate ("not to grab", Agrahya)
Mantra: (referring to) spells (mantra)
Yantrāṃāṃ: (and) magic charts (yantra)
Yogī: (a) yogi
Yuktaḥ: (which is completely) concentrated ("connected") (Yukta)
Samādhinā: through (the) immersion (Samadhi)

The yogî engaged in Samâdhi cannot be killed by any instrument and is beyond the controlling power of other beings, beyond the reach of incantations and charms.
