स्वस्थो जाग्रदवस्थायां सुप्तवद्योऽवतिष्ठते ।
निःश्वासोच्छ्वासहीनश्च निश्चितं मुक्त एव सः ॥ ४.११२ ॥ |
svastho jāgradavasthāyāṃ suptavadyo'vatiṣṭhate ।
niḥśvāsocchvāsahīnaśca niścitaṃ mukta eva saḥ ॥ 4.112 ॥ |
Sva-sthaḥ *: healthy ("in itself", Svastha)
Jāgrat: (of the) Awakening (Jagrat)
Avasthāyāṃ: in the state (Avastha)
Supta-vat: how (a) sleeping (supta-vat)
Yaḥ: who (yad)
Avatiṣṭhate: lays (ava + sthā)
Niśvāsa: Inhalation (Nishvasa)
Ucchvāsa: (and) exhalation (Uchchhvasa)
Hīna ohne: without (Hina)
Ca: and (Cha)
Niścitaṃ: undoubtedly, surely (Nishchita)
Muktaḥ: (is) liberated (mukta)
Eva: really (Eva)
Saḥ: the (Tad) || 112 ||

One who, though awake, appears asleep and appears to neither exhale nor inhale (due to Kumbhaka) is certainly free.
