अनाहतस्य शब्दस्य ध्वनिर्य उपलभ्यते ।
ध्वनेरन्तर्गतं ज्ञेयं ज्ञेयस्यान्तर्गतं मनः ।
मनस्तत्र लयं याति तद्विष्णोः परमं पदम् ॥ ४.१०० ॥ |
anāhatasya śabdasya dhvanirya upalabhyate ।
dhvanerantargataṃ jñeyaṃ jñeyasyāntargataṃ manaḥ ।
manastatra layaṃ yāti tadviṣṇoḥ paramaṃ padam ॥ 4.100 ॥ |
Anāhatasya: the unhappy (Anahata)
Śabdasya: Sound (Shabda)
Dhvaniḥ: (the) sound (Dhvani)
Yaḥ: the one who (Yad)
Upalabhyate: belongs ("perceived") is (upa + labh)
Dhvaneḥ: (this) tone
Antar-gataṃ: inside ("inside", Antar-Gata)
Jñeyaṃ *: (is that which) should be recognized ("the recognizable", Jneya)
Jñeyasya: the one to be known
Antar-gataṃ: inside, within
Manas: (is the spirit) (manas)
Manas: the Spirit
Tatra: there, in this (to be known, Tatra)
Layaṃ: (its) resolution, absorption (laya)
Yāti: obtains ("goes to", yā)
Tad: the (Tad)
Viḥoḥ: Vishnus
Paramaṃ: (is the highest) (parama)
Padam: location, condition (Pada) || 100 ||

The knowable interpenetrates the anâhata sound being heard, and the mind interpenetrates the knowable. The mind becomes absorbed there, which is the seat of the all-pervading, almighty Lord.
