कर्णौ पिधाय हस्ताभ्यां यः शृणोति ध्वनिं मुनिः ।
तत्र चित्तं स्थिरीकुर्याद्यावत्स्थिरपदं व्रजेत् ॥ ४.८२ ॥ |
karṇau pidhāya hastābhyāṃ yaḥ śṛṇoti dhvaniṃ muniḥ ।
tatra cittaṃ sthirīkuryādyāvatsthirapadaṃ vrajet ॥ 4.82 ॥ |
Karṇau: both ears (Karna)
Pidhāya: (if he) closes ("closing")
Hastābhyāṃ *: with both hands (Hasta)
Yaṃ: which (Yad)
Śṛṇoti: hears (śru)
Dhvaniṃ: (the) sound, sound (Dhvani)
Muniḥ: (the) wise (Yogi, Muni)
Tatra: on this (Tatra)
Cittaṃ: (his) spirit (chitta)
Sthirī-kuryād: (er) judge ("make firm", Sthira kṛ)
Yāvat: to (Yavat)
