कर्णौ पिधाय हस्ताभ्यां यः शृणोति ध्वनिं मुनिः । तत्र चित्तं स्थिरीकुर्याद्यावत्स्थिरपदं व्रजेत् ॥ ४.८२ ॥

karṇau pidhāya hastābhyāṃ yaḥ śṛṇoti dhvaniṃ muniḥ । tatra cittaṃ sthirīkuryādyāvatsthirapadaṃ vrajet ॥ 4.82 ॥

Karṇau: both ears (Karna) Pidhāya: (if he) closes ("closing") Hastābhyāṃ *: with both hands (Hasta) Yaṃ: which (Yad) Śṛṇoti: hears (śru) Dhvaniṃ: (the) sound, sound (Dhvani) Muniḥ: (the) wise (Yogi, Muni) Tatra: on this (Tatra) Cittaṃ: (his) spirit (chitta) Sthirī-kuryād: (er) judge ("make firm", Sthira kṛ) Yāvat: to (Yavat) Sthira: (the) immobile, motionless ("fixed", sthira) Padaṃ **: Condition (Pada) Vrajet: (he) obtained ("goes", vraj) || 82 ||
