उन्मन्यवाप्तये शीघ्रं भ्रूध्यानं मम संमतम् ।
राजयोगपदं प्राप्तुं सुखोपायोऽल्पचेतसाम् ।
सद्यः प्रत्ययसन्धायी जायते नादजो लयः ॥ ४.८० ॥ |
unmanyavāptaye śīghraṃ bhrūdhyānaṃ mama saṃmatam ।
rājayogapadaṃ prāptuṃ sukhopāyo'lpacetasām ।
sadyaḥ pratyayasandhāyī jāyate nādajo layaḥ ॥ 4.80 ॥

Unmanī: (of the state) beyond the spirit (Unmani)
Avāptaye: for reaching (Avapti)
Śīghraṃ: (on) fast (e way, Shighra)
Bhrū: (to the center between the) Augenbrauen (Bhru)
Dhyānaṃ *: (the) meditation, concentration (dhyana)
Mama: (from) me (Mad, i.e., from Svatmarama)
Saṃmatam: (is highly appreciated) (Sammata)
Rāja-yoga **: (of) royal yoga (Raja yoga)
Padaṃ: (the) state (Pada)
Prāptuṃ: to reach (pra + āp)
Sukha: (this is a) simple ("comfortable, pleasant," Sukha)
Upāyaḥ: means (Upaya)
Alpa: low (are, alpa)
Cetasām: for (those whose abilities of the) intellect (Chetas)
Sadyaḥ: immediately (Sadyas)
Pratyaya: (an immediate) experience ("insight, imagination," Pratyaya)
Sandhāyī: (the) gives ("connects with", sam + dha)
Jāyate: (so) is created (Jan)
Nāda-jaḥ: born (from concentration on the inner) sound (nada)
Layaḥ: (the state of) resolution, absorption (Laya) || 80 ||

Contemplation on the space between the eyebrows is, in my opinion, best for quickly accomplishing the Unmanî state. For people of little intellect, it is a very easy method for obtaining perfection in Raja Yoga. The Laya produced by nâda at once gives this experience (of spiritual powers).
