अथ निष्पत्त्यवस्था
रुद्रग्रन्थिं यदा भित्त्वा शर्वपीठगतोऽनिलः ।
निष्पत्तौ वैणवः शब्दः क्वणद्वीणाक्वणो भवेत् ॥ ४.७६ ॥ |
atha niṣpattyavasthā
rudragranthiṃ yadā bhittvā śarvapīṭhagato'nilaḥ ।
niṣpattau vaiṇavaḥ śabdaḥ kvaṇadvīṇākvaṇo bhavet ॥ 4.76 ॥ |
Atha: now (follows, Atha)
Niṣpatty-avasthā: Nishpatti Avastha (the "state of perfection")
Rudra-granthiṃ *: Rudra knot (Rudra Granthi)
Yadā: if (Yada)
Bhittvā: after he has pierced (bhid)
Śarva: Shivas (Sharva)
Pīṭha *: (to) the seat (Pitha)
Gataḥ: has arrived (Gata)
Anilaḥ: (the) life breath, breath, Prana ("wind", Anila)
Niṣpatti: in the (state of) perfection (nishpatti)
Vaiḥavaḥ: (one) flute (vainava)
Śabdaḥ: (the) sound (Shabda)
Kvaṇat: (a) sounding (kvaṇ)
Vīṇā: Vina (of a string instrument)
Kvaḥaḥ: (or the sound) (Kvana)
Bhavet: sounds ("be", bhū) || 76 ||

When the Rudra granthi is pierced and the air enters the seat of the Lord (the space between the eyebrows), then
a perfect sound like that of a flute is produced.
