चित्तानन्दं तदा जित्वा सहजानन्दसम्भवः ।
दोषदुःखजराव्याधिक्षुधानिद्राविवर्जितः ॥ ४.७५ ॥ |
cittānandaṃ tadā jitvā sahajānandasambhavaḥ ।
doṣaduḥkhajarāvyādhikṣudhānidrāvivarjitaḥ ॥ 4.75 ॥ |
Citta: (the) mind (chitta)
Ānandaṃ *: (the result of hearing the different sounds) Bliss (Ananda)
Tadā: then (Tada)
Jitvā: after (the Yogi) has overcome ("defeated") (Ji)
Sahaja: (the) natural ("congenital", Sahaja)
Ānanda: Happiness
Sambhavaḥ: emerges ("is the genesis," Sambhava)
Doṣa: (from a disturbance of the three) Doshas ("mistake")
Duḥkha: (of) pain, suffering (Duhkha)
Jarā: Age (Jara)
Vyādhi: disease (vyadhi)
Kṣudhā: hunger (Kshudha)
Nidrā: (excessive) sleep, drowsiness (nidra)
Vivarjitaḥ: (the yogi becomes) free ("leave", Vivarjita) || 75 ||

Conquering, then, the pleasures of the mind, an ecstacy is spontaneously produced which is devoid of evil, pain,
old age, disease, hunger and sleepiness.
