अथ परिचयावस्था
तृतीयायां तु विज्ञेयो विहायो मर्दलध्वनिः ।
महाशून्यं तदा याति सर्वसिद्धिसमाश्रयम् ॥ ४.७४ ॥

atha paricayāvasthā
tṛtīyāyāṃ tu vijñeyo vihāyo mardaladhvaniḥ ।
mahāśūnyaṃ tadā yāti sarvasiddhisamāśrayam ॥ 4.74 ॥ |

Paricaya-avasthā: Parichaya Avastha
Tṛtīyāyāṃ: in the third (state, Tritiya)
Tu: but (Tu)
Vijñeyaḥ: will learn (Vijneya)
Vihāyas *: (in) space (between the eyebrows, Vihayas)
Mardala: (one) drum (mardala)
Dhvaniḥ: (the) sound (Dhvani)
Mahā-śūnyaṃ *: (in the) great emptiness (Mahashunya)
Tadā: then (Tada)
Yāti: (Prana)
Sarva: all (Sarva)
Siddhi: perfections, supernatural abilities (Siddhi)
Samāśrayam: (the) seat, place ("residence", Samashraya) || 74 ||

In the third stage, the sound of a drum is known to arise in the Sûnya between the eyebrows, and then the Vâyu goes to the mahâśûnya, which is the home of all the siddhîs.
