अथ घटावस्था
द्वितीयायां घटीकृत्य वायुर्भवति मध्यगः ।
दृढासनो भवेद्योगी ज्ञानी देवसमस्तदा ॥ ४.७२ ॥ |
atha ghaṭāvasthā
dvitīyāyāṃ ghaṭīkṛtya vāyurbhavati madhyagaḥ ।
dṛḍhāsano bhavedyogī jñānī devasamastadā ॥ 4.72 ॥ |
Atha: now (follows, Atha)
Ghaṭa-āvasthā: (the) "pot-state" (Ghata Avastha)
Dvitīyāyāṃ: in the second (state, Dvitiya)
Ghaṭī-kṛtya *: after having been united (with Apana) (ghaṛ kṛ)
Vāyuḥ *: (the) life breath, breath, Prana ("Wind", Vayu)
Bhavati: becomes (to a, bhū)
Madhya-gaḥ **: which flows into the middle (Chakra) ("goes", Madhya-ga)
Dṛḍha: solid (is, dridha)
Āsanaḥ: (whose) body position ("seat", asana)
Bhavet: becomes (to a, bhū)
Yogī: (the) yogi (yogin)
Jñānī: wise (Jnanin, "one who has Jnana")
Deva: (of the) gods (Deva)
Samaḥ: equal (t, sama)
Tadā: then (Tada) || 72 ||

In the second stage, the Vayus are united into one and begin moving in the middle channel. The yogî's posture
becomes firm, and he becomes wise like a god.
