आरम्भश्च घटश्चैव तथा परिचयोऽपि च ।
निष्पत्तिः सर्वयोगेषु स्यादवस्थाचतुष्टयम् ॥ ४.६९ ॥ |
ārambhaśca ghaṭaścaiva tathā paricayo'pi ca ।
niṣpattiḥ sarvayogeṣu syādavasthācatuṣṭayam ॥ 4.69 ॥

Ārambhaḥ: "Beginning, Beginning" (Arambha, i.e., Arambha Avastha)
Ca: and (Cha)
Ghaḥaḥ: \ "pot \" (Ghata, i.e., Ghata Avastha)
Ca: and
Eva: really (Eva)
Tathā: likewise (Tatha)
Paricayaḥ: "familiarity, accumulation" (Parichaya, i.e., Parichaya Avastha)
Api: also (Api)
Ca: and
Niṣpattiḥ: "perfection, perfection" (Nishpatti, i.e., Nishpatti Avastha)
Sarva: (at) all (Sarva)
Yogeṣu: Yoga (Techniques)
Syāt: is ("be", as)
Avasthā: (the) states (Avastha)
Catuṣṭayam: (the) group of four (Chatushtaya) || 69 ||

In all the yogas there are four states: (1) ârambha, or the beginning, (2) Ghata, or the state of a jar, (3) Parichaya (the known), (4) nispatti (the consummate).
