एवं नानाविधोपायाः सम्यक्स्वानुभवान्विताः । समाधिमार्गाः कथिताः पूर्वाचार्यैर्महात्मभिः ॥ ४.६३ ॥ |
evaṃ nānāvidhopāyāḥ samyaksvānubhavānvitāḥ । samādhimārgāḥ kathitāḥ pūrvācāryairmahātmabhiḥ ॥ 4.63 ॥ |
| Evaṃ: so, in this way (Evam)
Nānā: various (nana)
Vidha: Art (Vidha)
Upāyāḥ: (consisting of) means, methods, techniques (Upaya)
Samyak: complete, correct, accurate (samyak)
Sva: (their own) (Sva)
Anubhava: Experience (Anubhava)
Anvitāḥ: following (Anvita)
Samādhi: (to) the sinking (Samadhi)
Mārgāḥ: the paths (Marga)
Kathitāḥ: have been taught (Kathita)
Pūrva: (from the) former (Purva)
Ācāryaiḥ: Teachers, Masters (Acharya)
Mahā: great, powerful (was, Maha)
Ātmabhiḥ: (whose) soul, spirit (Atman) || 63 || |
The high-souled Âchâryas (teachers) of yore gained experience in the various methods of Samâdhi themselves and then taught them to others. |
