कर्पूरं अनले यद्वत्सैन्धवं सलिले यथा । तथा सन्धीयमानं च मनस्तत्त्वे विलीयते ॥ ४.५९ ॥

karpūraṃ anale yadvatsaindhavaṃ salile yathā । tathā sandhīyamānaṃ ca manastattve vilīyate ॥ 4.59 ॥

Karpūram: Camphor (Karpura) Anale: in the fire (Anala) Yad-vat: just like (Yadvat) Saindhavaṃ: stone salt (Saindhava) Salile: in the water (Salila) Yathā: like (Yatha) Tathā: just like (Tatha) Sandhīyamānaṃ: (when he comes into contact) ("connecting", sam + dhā) Ca: also (cha) Manas: the spirit (manas) Tattve *: in the (highest) reality (Tattva) Vilīyate: disappears, dissolves on (vi + lī) || 59 ||

As camphor disappears in fire, and as rock salt dissolves in water, so the mind united with the âtmâ, loses its identity.
