सङ्कल्पमात्रकलनैव जगत्समग्रं
सङ्कल्पमात्रकलनैव मनोविलासः ।
सङ्कल्पमात्रमतिं उत्सृज निर्विकल्पम्
आश्रित्य निश्चयं अवाप्नुहि राम शान्तिम् ॥ ४.५८ ॥ |
saṅkalpamātrakalanaiva jagatsamagraṃ
saṅkalpamātrakalanaiva manovilāsaḥ ।
saṅkalpamātramatiṃ utsṛja nirvikalpam
āśritya niścayaṃ avāpnuhi rāma śāntim ॥ 4.58 ॥ |

Mātra: sheer (Matra)
Kalanā: (is a plant) (Kalana)
Eva: certainly (Eva)
Jagat: World (Jagat)
Samagraṃ: the whole (Samagra)

Eva: certainly
Manas: (the) spirit (manas)
Vilāsaḥ: (the) game, driving (Vilasa)
Saṅkalpa: Introduction (s)
Mātra: bare
Matim: (the) thinking, desire (with regard to all that is based on, Mati)
Utsṛja: give up ("throw away", ut + sṛj)
Nir-vikalpam *: (to what is) no change, change (subject, nirvikalpa)
Āśritya: (wholly) surrendering ("supporting", ā + śri)
Niścayam: safe, certain (Nishchaya)
Avāpnuhi: attain (ava + āp)
Rāma **: oh Rama
Śāntim: inner peace (Shanti) || 58 ||

The whole of this world and all the schemes of the mind are but the creations of thought. Discarding these thoughts and taking leave of all conjectures, O Râma!, achieves peace.
