अमृतैः प्लावयेद्देहं आपादतलमस्तकम् ।
सिद्ध्यत्येव महाकायो महाबलपराक्रमः ॥ ४.५३ ॥ |
amṛtaiḥ plāvayeddehaṃ āpādatalamastakam ।
siddhyatyeva mahākāyo mahābalaparākramaḥ ॥ 4.53 ॥ |
Amṛtaiḥ: with nectar (amrita)
Plāvayet: (the yogi) fill ("flooding, bathe", plu)
Deham: (his) body (Deha)
Ā: from (ā)
Pāda-tala: (the) soles of the feet (pada-tala)
Mastakam: (to the) head (Mastaka)
Sidhyati: (thereby) comes ("done", sidh)
Eva: certainly (Eva)
Mahā: (that he had a) great, extraordinary (Maha)
Kāyaḥ: body (gets, kaya)
Mahā: (as well) exceptional
Bala: Force (Bala)
Parākramaḥ: (and) boldness, bravery (Parakrama) || 53 ||

By rubbing the body all over with the Amrita (exuding from the "Moon"), from head to foot, one achieves mahâkâyâ, i.e., great strength and energy.
