उच्छिन्नसर्वसङ्कल्पो निःशेषाशेषचेष्टितः ।
स्वावगम्यो लयः कोऽपि जायते वागगोचरः ॥ ४.३२ ॥ |
ucchinnasarvasaṅkalpo niḥśeṣāśeṣaceṣṭitaḥ ।
svāvagamyo layaḥ ko'pi jāyate vāgagocaraḥ ॥ 4.32 ॥ |
Ucchinna: (in a state in which) disappeared ("cut off", Uchchhinna)
Sarva: any (Sarva)
Saṅkalpaḥ *: spiritual change ("desire, will", Sankalpa)
Niḥśeṣa: (the) free (is, nihshesha)
Aśeṣa: (of) all, all (ashesha)
Ceḥitaḥ: movements (of the body, Cheshtita)
Sva: (of one) itself, (of) the self (Sva)
Avagamyaḥ: (which is only) perceptible (Avagamya)
Layaḥ: resolution, absorption (Laya)
Ko'pi (kaḥ api): an indescribable ("certain, definite," Ka Api)
Jāyate: arises (jan)
Vāc: (the) language (vach)
Agocaraḥ: beyond the area (Agochara) || 32 ||

When all thoughts and activities are destroyed, then the Laya Stage is produced. Words cannot describe it, and it can only be known through experience.
