तत्समं च द्वयोरैक्यं जीवात्मपरमात्मनोः ।
प्रनष्टसर्वसङ्कल्पः समाधिः सोऽभिधीयते ॥ ४.७ ॥ |
tatsamaṃ ca dvayoraikyaṃ jīvātmaparamātmanoḥ ।
pranaṣṭasarvasaṅkalpaḥ samādhiḥ so'bhidhīyate ॥ 4.7 ॥ |
Tad *: this (Tad)
Samaṁ *: same, comparable (Sama)
Ca: and (Cha)
Dvayoḥ: this two (Dvi)
Aikyaṁ: (is the) unit (Aikya)
Jīva-ātma: (the) individual soul (Jivatman)
Parama-ātmanoḥ: and the universal soul (Paramatman)
Pranaṣṭa: have disappeared (nashta)
Sarva: (in the) all (Sarva)
Saṅkalpaḥ: Performances, ideas, wishes (Sankalpa)
Samādhiḥ: Samadhi ("connection, sinking")
Saḥ: this (Tad)
Abhidhīyate: is called (Abhidhana) || 7 ||

|
This balance and integration of the lower and higher Self, when all Sankalpas cease to exist, is called Samâdhi.
