अथेदानीं प्रवक्ष्यामि समाधिक्रमं उत्तमम् । मृत्युघ्नं च सुखोपायं ब्रह्मानन्दकरं परम् ॥ ४.२ ॥ |
athedānīṃ pravakṣyāmi samādhikramaṃ uttamam । mṛtyughnaṃ ca sukhopāyaṃ brahmānandakaraṃ param ॥ 4.2 ॥ |
| Atha: then, now (Atha)
Idānīṁ: now, on this occasion (Idanim)
Pravakṣyāmi: I will teach, proclaim (pra + vac)
Samādhi: (the) immersion (Samadhi)
Kramam: process ("stepwise sequence", Krama)
Uttamam: (the) excellent, best (Uttama)
Mṛtyu-ghnaṁ: (which destroys the death (Mrityu) (Ghna)
Ca: and (Cha)
Sukha: (von) Happiness, well-being (Sukha)
Upāyaṁ: (a) means (to reach, upaya)
Brahma: (due to the union with the) Brahman
Ānanda-karaṁ: (means to) effecting the bliss (Ananda Kara)
Param: (the) best (para) || 2 || |
Now I will describe a regular method of attaining to Samâdhi, which destroys death, is the means for obtaining happiness, and gives one the Brahmânanda. |
