ब्रह्मचर्यरतस्यैव नित्यं हितमिताशिनः ।
मण्डलाद्दृश्यते सिद्धिः कुण्डल्यभ्यासयोगिनः ॥ ३.१२१ ॥ |
brahmacaryaratasyaiva nityaṃ hitamitāśinaḥ ।
maṇḍalāddṛśyate siddhiḥ kuṇḍalyabhyāsayoginaḥ ॥ 3.121 ॥ |
Brahma-carya: (of sexual) Abstinence (Brahmacharya)
Ratasya: who has fallen (Rata)
Eva: only (eve)
Nityaṁ: always, always (Nitya)
Hita: healing (food, hita)
Mita: with moderation ("moderate", Mita)
Aśinaḥ: the eats (Ashana)
Maṇḍalāt *: after 40 days ("a circle", mandala)
Dṛśyate: comes into being ("is seen", dṛś)
Siddhiḥ: Success, Perfection (Siddhi)
Kuṇḍalī: (to the) Kundali (ni) (aligned)
Abhyāsa: (his) practice (abhyasa)
Yoginaḥ: a yogi || 121 ||

Only one who delights in the life of abstinence (brahmacharin), who always conforms to a moderate and salutary diet, and who practices yoga by stimulating Kundalini will approach Siddhi within forty days.
