ऋतुमत्या रजोऽप्येवं निजं बिन्दुं च रक्षयेत् ।
मेढ्रेणाकर्षयेदूर्ध्वं सम्यगभ्यासयोगवित् ॥ ३.९१ ॥ |
ṛtumatyā rajo'pyevaṃ nijaṃ binduṃ ca rakṣayet ।
meḍhreṇākarṣayedūrdhvaṃ samyagabhyāsayogavit ॥ 3.91 ॥ |
Ṛtu-matyāḥ *: a woman (in or after the) rule (ritumati)
Rajas **: (the) fluid ("menstrual blood", rajas)
Api: also (Api)
Evaṁ: so, this way (evam)
Nijaṁ: (the) own (nija)
Binduṁ: Seed (Bindu)
Ca: and (Cha)
Rakṣayet: preserve (rakṣ)
Meṇhreṇa: with the penis (mendhra)
Ākarṣayet: pull (back, ā + kṛṣ)
Ūrdhvaṁ: upwards, upwards (Urdhva)
Samyak: complete, correct (samyak)
Abhyāsa: (from) practical experience ("exercise", Abhyasa)
Yoga-vit: (one who knows the) yoga (vid) || 91 ||

The bindu is under the control of the mind, and life is dependent upon it. Hence, the mind and bindu should be protected by all means.
