चित्तायत्तं नॄणां शुक्रं शुक्रायत्तं च जीवितम् । तस्माच्छुक्रं मनश्चैव रक्षणीयं प्रयत्नतः ॥ ३.९० ॥ |
cittāyattaṃ nṝṇāṃ śukraṃ śukrāyattaṃ ca jīvitam । tasmācchukraṃ manaścaiva rakṣaṇīyaṃ prayatnataḥ ॥ 3.90 ॥ |
| Citta: (from) the Spirit (Chitta)
Āyattaṁ: (is) dependent (Ayatta)
Nṁāṁ: the men (Nri)
Śukraṁ: (the) seed (Shukra)
Śukra: (from) the seed
Āyattaṁ: (is) dependent (Ayatta)
Ca: and (Cha)
Jīvitam: (the) life (Jivita)
Tasmāt: therefore, therefore (tasmat)
Śukraṁ: (the) seed
Manas: the spirit (manas)
Ca: and
Eva: certainly (Eva)
Rakṇaṇīyaṁ: should be guarded (Rakshaniya)
Prayatnataḥ: carefully, eagerly (Prayatna) || 90 || |
Mortals are dependent on Spirit, and life is dependent on reproductive material; therefore the reproductive material should be guarded carefully. |
