सुगन्धो योगिनो देहे जायते बिन्दुधारणात् ।
यावद्बिन्दुः स्थिरो देहे तावत्कालभयं कुतः ॥ ३.८९ ॥ |
sugandho yogino dehe jāyate bindudhāraṇāt ।
yāvadbinduḥ sthiro dehe tāvatkālabhayaṃ kutaḥ ॥ 3.89 ॥ |
Su-gandhaḥ: (a) sweet smell (Sugandha)
Yoginaḥ: the yogi
Dehe: in the body (Deha)
Jāyate: created (Jan)
Bindu: (the) seed (bindu)
Dhāraṇāt: due to (re) holding (Dharana)
Yāvat: if ("as long as," Yavat)
Binduḥ: the seed
Sthiraḥ: remains ("constant," Sthira)
Dehe: in the body
Tāvat: then ("exactly as long as", Tavat)
Kāla: (before the) death ("time", Kala)
Bhayaṁ: (come) fear, fear (Bhaya)
Kutaḥ: where from (Kutas) || 89 ||

By preserving bindu, the body of the yogî emits a pleasing smell. There is no fear of death so long as the bindu is well-established in the body.
