एवं संरक्षयेद्बिन्दुं जयति योगवित् ।
मरणं बिन्दुपातेन जीवनं बिन्दुधारणात् ॥ ३.८८ ॥ |
evaṃ saṃrakṣayedbinduṃ jayati yogavit ।
maraṇaṃ bindupātena jīvanaṃ bindudhāraṇāt ॥ 3.88 ॥ |
Evaṁ: so, this way (evam)
Saṣrakṣayet: to preserve (sam + rakṣ)
Binduṁ: (his) seed (bindu)
Mṛtyuṁ: (the) death (Mrityu)
Jayati: defeated (ji)
Yoga-vid: (the) connoisseur of yoga vid
Maraṁaṁ: (the) death ("dying" happens, Marana)
Bindu: of the seed
Pātena: by the fall (Pata)
Jīvanaṁ: (the) life (being preserved, Jivana)
Bindu: of the seed
Dhāraṇāt: due to keeping (Dharana) || 88 ||

The yogî who can protect his bindu, overcomes death, because death comes by discharging it and life is prolonged by its preservation.
