तत्र वस्तुद्वयं वक्ष्ये दुर्लभं यस्य कस्यचित् ।
क्षीरं चैकं द्वितीयं तु नारी च वशवर्तिनी ॥ ३.८४ ॥ |
tatra vastudvayaṃ vakṣye durlabhaṃ yasya kasyacit ।
kṣīraṃ caikaṃ dvitīyaṃ tu nārī ca vaśavartinī ॥ 3.84 ॥ |
Tatra: in this (context, Tatra)
Vastu: Things (Vastu)
Dvayaṁ: two (a "pair", Dvaya)
Vakṣye: mention, I teach ("will say", vac)
Dur-labhaṁ: (the) difficult to attain (are, Durlabha)
Yasya kasya-cid *: for any one (destitute man, (Yad Ka Chid
Kṣīraṁ: milk (Kshira)
Ca: and, but (Cha)
Ekaṁ: (is that) one (eka)
Dvitīyaṁ: (is that) other ("second", Dvitiya)
Tu: but (Tu)
Nārī: (a) woman (Nari)

Vaśa-vartinī: which is to the will (which "behaves as desired", vashavartin) || 84 ||

Two things are necessary for this, and these are difficult to get for ordinary people — (1) milk and (2) a woman who will behave as desired.
