ऊर्ध्वनाभेरधस्तालोरूर्ध्वं भानुरधः शशी ।
करणी विपरीताखा गुरुवाक्येन लभ्यते ॥ ३.७९ ॥ |
ūrdhvanābheradhastālorūrdhvaṃ bhānuradhaḥ śaśī ।
karaṇī viparītākhā guruvākyena labhyate ॥ 3.79 ॥ |
Ūrdhva: above (is, Urdhva)
Nābheḥ: (with a yogi, whose) navel (Nabhi)
Adhas: down (is, Adhas)
Tāloḥ: (and whose) palate (Talu)
Ūrdhvaṁ: above
Bhānuḥ: (is the) sun (bhanu)
Adhas: below
Śaśī: (and the) moon (Shashin)
Karaṇī: (this) Seal (Karani)
Viparīta: "the inverted" (Viparita)
Ākhyā: named (Akhya)
Guru: (the) teacher, master (Guru)
Vākyena: by the words ("the word", Vakya)
Labhyate: is obtained (labh) || 79 ||

This exercise increases the appetite, and therefore one who practises it should obtain a good supply of food. If food be scarce, the bodily fire will burn him up at once.
