कण्ठसंकोचनेनैव द्वे नाड्यौ स्तम्भयेद्दृढम् ।
मध्यचक्रं इदं ज्ञेयं षोडशाधारबन्धनम् ॥ ३.७३ ॥ |
kaṇṭhasaṃkocanenaiva dve nāḍyau stambhayeddṛḍham ।
madhyacakraṃ idaṃ jñeyaṃ ṣoḍaśādhārabandhanam ॥ 3.73 ॥ |
Kaṇṭha: the throat (Kantha)
Saṅkocanena: by contracting (Sankocha)
Eva: only, alone (Eva)
Dve: (the) two (Dvi)
Nāḍyau: (fine-energy channels) (Nadi, i.e., Ida and Pingala)
Stambhayet: (man) inhibit, interrupt (stambh)
Dṛḍham: solid (dridha)
Madhya-cakram *: (the) middle center ("wheel", Madhya Chakra, i.e., Vishuddhi Chakra)
Idaṁ: this, here (idam)
Jñeyaṁ: you should know (Jneya)
Ḍoḍaśa *: (the) sixteen (Shodasha)
Ādhāra *: Supports (Adhara)
Bandhanam: (as a means to control) ("Binding, Restraining," Bandhana) || 73 ||

The two Nâdîs should be stopped firmly by contracting the throat. This is called the middle circuit or center
(Madhya Chakra), and it stops the six âdhâras (i.e., vital parts).
