बिलं प्रविष्टेव ततो ब्रह्मनाड्यं तरं व्रजेत् ।
तस्मान्नित्यं मूलबन्धः कर्तव्यो योगिभिः सदा ॥ ३.६९ ॥ |
bilaṃ praviṣṭeva tato brahmanāḍyaṃ taraṃ vrajet ।
tasmānnityaṃ mūlabandhaḥ kartavyo yogibhiḥ sadā ॥ 3.69 ॥ |
Bilaṁ: (in it) hole (Bila)
Praviṣṭā: driving in (entered, Pravishta)
Iva: as it were (a serpent, Iva)
Tataḥ: then (Tatas)
Brahma-nāḍī: (the) Sushumna, "Brahman channel" (Brahmanadi)
Antaraṁ: inside (Antara)
Vrajet: moves ("goes", vraj)
Tasmāt: therefore, therefore (tasmat)
Nityaṁ: daily ("always", Nitya)
Mūla-bandhaḥ: Mula Bandha ("root closure")
Kartavyaḥ: to be practiced (Kartavya)
Yogibhiḥ: from the yogis
Sadā: always (Sada) || 69 ||

The Kundalini enters the Brahma Nâdî just as a serpent enters its hole. Therefore, the yogî should always practise this Mûla Bandha.
