तेन कुण्डलिनी सुप्ता सन्तप्ता सम्प्रबुध्यते ।
दण्डाहता भुजङ्गीव निश्वस्य ऋजुतां व्रजेत् ॥ ३.६८ ॥ |
tena kuṇḍalinī suptā santaptā samprabudhyate ।
daṇḍāhatā bhujaṅgīva niśvasya ṛjutāṃ vrajet ॥ 3.68 ॥ |
Tena: through this (heat, Tad)
Kuṇḍalinī: Kundalini (the "curling")
Suptā: (the) sleeping (supta)
Santaptā: heated (Tapta)
Samprabudhyate: wakes up (sam + pra + budh)
Daṇḍa: (with a) stick (danda)
Āhatā: (that is) beaten ("was," Ahata)
Bhujaṅgī: (a) snake-bitch (Bhujangi)
Iva: like (Iva)
Niśvasya: hissing (ni + śvas)
Ṛjutāṁ: erect, straight ("to straightness", Rijuta)
Vrajet: becomes ("goes", vraj) || 68 ||

The Kundalinî, which has been sleeping all this time, becomes well-heated by this and very much awake. It uncoils and becomes straight like a serpent that has been struck dead with a stick.
