सर्वेषां एव बन्धानां उत्तमो ह्युड्डीयानकः । उड्डियाने दृढे बन्धे मुक्तिः स्वाभाविकी भवेत् ॥ ३.६० ॥ |
sarveṣāṃ eva bandhānāṃ uttamo hyuḍḍīyānakaḥ । uḍḍiyāne dṛḍhe bandhe muktiḥ svābhāvikī bhavet ॥ 3.60 ॥ |

Bandhānāṁ: closures (bandhas is)
Uttamaḥ: (the) best (Uttama)
Hi: because (hi)
Uḍḍīyānakaḥ: Uddiyanaka
Uḍḍiyāne: (named) Uddiyana
That is: surely is dominated ("firm," Dridha)
Bandhe: (as soon as this) closure
Muktiḥ: (the) liberation, salvation (mukti)
Svābhāvikī: natural, spontaneous ("as a natural, inherent to one's being," Svabhavika)
Bhavet: (then) a ("is created", bhū) || 60 || |
Of all the Bandhas, Uddiyâna is the best, for by binding it firmly, liberation comes spontaneously. |
