उड्डीनं कुरुते यस्मादविश्रान्तं महाखगः । उड्डीयानं तदेव स्यात्तव बन्धोऽभिधीयते ॥ ३.५६ ॥ |
uḍḍīnaṃ kurute yasmādaviśrāntaṃ mahākhagaḥ । uḍḍīyānaṃ tadeva syāttava bandho'bhidhīyate ॥ 3.56 ॥ |
| Uḍḍīnaṁ: (the) fly-up (in the Sushumna, Uddina)
Kurute: makes (kṛ)
Yasmāt: because with this (Bandha, "due to", Yad)
Aviśrāntaṁ: untiring, incessant (Avishranta)
Mahā: (the) great (Maha)
Kha-gaḥ: Bird ("going in the airspace" Khaga, i.e., Prana)
Uḍḍīyānaṁ: Uddiyana (the "letting")
Tad: this (Tad)
Eva: certainly, truly (Eve)
Syāt: (hence) is ("shall be," as)
Tatra: in this (context, Tatra)
Bandhaḥ: (this) closure (Bandha)
Abhidhīyate: is described (now more closely) ("named", abhi + dhā) || 56 || |
Flying up through the Sushuma tirelessly is performed by Prana in the context of this Bandha, which is now described. |
