सुषिरं ज्ञानजनकं पञ्चस्रोतःसमन्वितम् ।
तिष्ठते खेचरी मुद्रा तस्मिन्शून्ये निरञ्जने ॥ ३.५३ ॥ |
suṣiraṃ jñānajanakaṃ pañcasrotaḥsamanvitam ।
tiṣṭhate khecarī mudrā tasminśūnye nirañjane ॥ 3.53 ॥

Suṁiraṁ: (this) hollow (Sushira)
Jñāna: (divine) knowledge, (highest) knowledge (Jnana)
Janakaṁ: hides ("produces, brings forth," Janaka)
Pañca: (the) five (Pancha)
Srotaḥ: streams (Srotas, i.e., Nadis)
Samanvitam: (is the place of the convergence ("homosexual, connected with", Samanvita)
Tiṣṭhate: is firmly established ("stands still, wait", sthā)
Khe-carī mudrā: khechari mudra
Tasmin: in this (Tad)
Śūnye: Empty (Shunya)
Nirañjane: immaculate (cavity, niranjana) || 53 ||

This hole is the generator of knowledge and is the source of the five streams (Idâ, Pingalâ, etc.). In that colorless vacuum, the Khecharî Mudrâ should be established.
