चुम्बन्ती यदि लम्बिकाग्रं अनिशं जिह्वारसस्यन्दिनी
सक्षारा कटुकाम्लदुग्धसदृशी मध्वाज्यतुल्या तथा ।
व्याधीनां हरणं जरान्तकरणं शस्त्रागमोदीरणं
तस्य स्यादमरत्वं अष्टगुणितं सिद्धाङ्गनाकर्षणम् ॥ ३.५० ॥ |
cumbantī yadi lambikāgraṃ aniśaṃ jihvārasasyandinī
sakṣārā kaṭukāmladugdhasadṛśī madhvājyatulyā tathā ।
vyādhīnāṃ haraṇaṃ jarāntakaraṇaṃ śastrāgamodīraṇaṃ
tasya syādamaratvaṃ aṣṭaguṇitaṃ siddhāṅganākarṣaṇam ॥ 3.50 ॥ |
Cumbantī: touches ("kissing", cumb)
Yadi: if (Yadi)
Lambikā: (the soft) palate (or: the palate, lambika)
Agram: (the extreme) end (the "peak", Agra)
Aniśaṁ: constantly, without restraint (Anisha)
Jihvā: (if the) tongue (Jihva)
Rasa: (a) juice, taste, (a) life elixir (rasa)
Syandinī: flowing (Syandini)
Sa-kṣārā: with (sa) salty (kshara)
Kaṭuka: sharp (Katuka)
Amla: (or) acid (Amla flavor)
Dugdha: milk (Dugdha)
Sadṛśī: similar, comparable to (Sadrisha)
Madhu: honey (Madhu)
Ājya: clarified butter, butter-malt (Ajya)
Tulyā: same as (Tulya)
Tathā: likewise, and (Tatha)
Vyādhīnāṁ: (of his) diseases (vyadhi)
Haraṁaṁ: (the) disappearances ("Tenemos", Harana)
Jarā: (of) the age (jara)
Anta-karaṁaṁ: (the) destruction ("ending", Anta-Karana)
Śastra: (from) Weapons, Shots (Shastra)
Āgama: (of) approaching (agama)
Udīraṁaṁ: (the) defending ("throwing away, ejection", Udirana)
Tasya: this (yogi, tad)
Syāt: is allocated ("be", as)
Amaratvam: immortality, divinity (Amaratva)
Aṣṭa: (the) eight (Ashta, Siddhis)
Guṁitaṁ: connected (with, Gunita)
Siddha: (the) Perfect (Siddha)
Aṅganā: the women (Angana)
Ākarṇaṇam: (irresistible) putting on (Akarshana) || 50 ||

If the tip of the tongue can touch the hole from which the rasa (nectar) falls, which tastes salty, bitter, sour, milky and is similar to a mixture of ghee and honey, then one can drive away disease, destroy old age, evade an armed attack, become immortal in eight ways and attract fairies.
