गोमांसं भक्षयेन्नित्यं पिबेदमरवारुणीम् ।
कुलीनं तं अहं मन्ये चेतरे कुलघातकाः ॥ ३.४७ ॥ |
gomāṃsaṃ bhakṣayennityaṃ pibedamaravāruṇīm ।
kulīnaṃ taṃ ahaṃ manye cetare kulaghātakāḥ ॥ 3.47 ॥ |
Go: the cow (go)
Māṁsaṁ: (the) meat (mamsa)
Bhakṣayet: (one) likes eating (bhakṣ)
Nityaṁ: daily ("always", Nitya)
Pibet: (one) likes to drink (pā)
Amara: (the) gods (the "immortal", Amara)
Vāruṇīm: (the) brandy (Varuni)
Kulīnaṁ: (as) from noble family (Kulina)
Tam: (one) such (yogi, tad)
Ahaṁ: me (Aham)
Manye: consider (man)
Itare: (die) other (Itara)
Kula: (her) family (kula)
Ghātakāḥ: (as) destroyer, killer (Ghataka) || 47 ||

|
Some who like eating the "flesh of the cow" and drinking the "divine immortal liquor" daily are considered to be of noble birth. Others are the destroyers of their families.
