इन्धनानि यथा वह्निस्तैलवर्ति च दीपकः ।
तथा सोमकलापूर्णं देही देहं न मुञ्चति ॥ ३.४६ ॥ |
indhanāni yathā vahnistailavarti ca dīpakaḥ ।
tathā somakalāpūrṇaṃ dehī dehaṃ na muñcati ॥ 3.46 ॥ |
Indhanāni: (the) firewood (indhana)
Yathā: like (Yatha)
Vahniḥ: Fire (Vahni)
Taila: (one with) oil (Taila impregnated)
Vartiṁ: Wick (Varti)
Ca: and (Cha)
Dīpakaḥ: (a) lamp (n light, dipaka)
Tathā: likewise (Tatha)
Soma: (the) moon (soma)
Kalā: (with the) nectar ("sixteenth", Kala)
Pūrṁaṁ: (the) is filled (Purna)
Dehī: (the) soul (the "incarnate", Dehin)
Dehaṁ: the body (Deha)
Na: not (Na)
Muñcati: leaves (muc) || 46 ||
|

As fire is inseparably connected with wood, and light is connected with the wick and oil, so the soul will not
leave a body full of nectar exuding from the Soma.
