अथ खेचरी
कपालकुहरे जिह्वा प्रविष्टा विपरीतगा ।
भ्रुवोरन्तर्गता दृष्टिर्मुद्रा भवति खेचरी ॥ ३.३२ ॥ |

kapālakuhare jihvā praviṣṭā viparītagā ।
bhruvorantargatā dṛṣṭirmudrā bhavati khecarī ॥ 3.32 ॥

Atha: now (follows, Atha)
Khe-carī: Khechari (Mudra)
Kapāla: (of the) skull (Kapala)
Coware: into the hollow (Kuhara)
Jihvā: the tongue (Jihva)
Praviṣṭā: (is) introduced (Pravishta)
Viparīta-gā: bent backwards ("reversed walking", Viparita Ga)
Bhruvoḥ: both eyebrows (Bhru)
Antar: between (Antar)
Gatā: directed ("gone", Gata)
Dḥiḥ: (the) view (Drishti)
Mudrā: (this) seal (mudra)
Bhavati: is (bhū)
Khe-carī: Khechari ("those who walk in heaven") || 32 ||

The Khechari Mudrâ is accomplished by thrusting the tongue into the gullet, by turning it over on itself while keeping the gaze fixed between the eyebrows.
