महावेधोऽयं अभ्यासान्महासिद्धिप्रदायकः ।
वलीपलितवेपघ्नः सेव्यते साधकोत्तमैः ॥ ३.२९ ॥ |
mahāvedho'yaṃ abhyāsānmahāsiddhipradāyakaḥ ।
valīpalitavepaghnaḥ sevyate sādhakottamaiḥ ॥ 3.29 ॥

Mahā-vedha: Maha Vedha (the "great breakthrough")
Ayam: this (ayam)
Abhyāsāt: through practice, practice (Abhyasa)
Mahā: great, mighty (Maha)
Siddhi: (supernatural) abilities, perfections (Siddhi)
Pradāyakaḥ: gives (Pradayaka)
Valī: folds (Vali)
Palita: white hair (palita)
Vepa-ghnaḥ: (it) drives out (Ghna, the) trembling (Vepa, of age)
Sevyate: (it) is practiced ("groomed", sev)
Sādhaka: (the) practicing (yogis, sadhaka)
Uttamaiḥ: of the best (Uttama) || 29 ||

The practice of this Mahâ Vedha, the giver of great Siddhis, destroys old age, grey hair, and shaking of the
body, and therefore is practised by the best masters.
