कालपाशमहाबन्धविमोचनविचक्षणः ।
त्रिवेणीसङ्गमं धत्ते केदारं प्रापयेन्मनः ॥ ३.२४ ॥ |
kālapāśamahābandhavimocanavicakṣaṇaḥ ।
triveṇīsaṅgamaṃ dhatte kedāraṃ prāpayenmanaḥ ॥ 3.24 ॥ |
Kāla: (the) death ("time", Kala)
Pāśa: (the) snare (Pasha)
Mahā: (of the) great (Maha)
Bandha: Shackle (Bandha)
Vimocana: (to) freeing (vimochana)
Vicakṇaḥaḥ: (Maha Bandha) is capable (Vichakshana)
Tri-veṇī: (the) three streams ("braids" Triveni, i.e., Ida, Pingala and Sushumna)
Saṅgamaṁ: (the) union, the confluence (Sangama)
Dhatte: (it) causes (dhā)
Kedāraṁ *: (to) Kedara
Prāpayet: (it) leads, brings (pra + āp)
Manas: the spirit (manas) || 24 ||

This Mahâ Bandha is the most skilful means for cutting away the snares of Death. It brings about the conjunction
of the Trivenî (Idâ, Pingalâ and Sushumnâ) and carries the mind to Kedâr (the space between the eyebrows, which is the seat of Shiva).
