इयं खलु महामुद्रा महासिद्धैः प्रदर्शिता ।
महाक्लेशादयो दोषाः क्षीयन्ते मरणादयः ।
महामुद्रां च तेनैव वदन्ति विबुधोत्तमाः ॥ ३.१४ ॥ |
iyaṃ khalu mahāmudrā mahāsiddhaiḥ pradarśitā ।
mahākleśādayo doṣāḥ kṣīyante maraṇādayaḥ ।
mahāmudrāṃ ca tenaiva vadanti vibudhottamāḥ ॥ 3.14 ॥ |
Mahā-kleśa *: (like the five) great (Maha) sufferings (Klesha)
Ādayaḥ: and others, etc. (Adi)
Doḥāḥ: evils (dosha)
Kṣīyante: cease, become foe (kṣi)
Maraṇa: (the) death (Marana)
Ādayaḥ: and others, etc.
Mahā-mudrāṁ: Maha Mudra (the "great seal" since it "seals" all sufferings)
Ca: and (Cha)
Tena: from this (reason, Tad)
Eva: exactly (Eva)
Vadanti: to call (it, vad)
Vibudha: (the) sages (vibudha)
Uttamāḥ: (the) best (Uttama) || 14 ||

Great evils and pains, such as death, are destroyed by it, and for this reason the wise call it the Mahâ Mudrâ.
