हठं विना राजयोगो राजयोगं विना हठः । न सिध्यति ततो युग्मं आनिष्पत्तेः समभ्यसेत् ॥ २.७६ ॥ |
haṭhaṃ vinā rājayogo rājayogaṃ vinā haṭhaḥ । na sidhyati tato yugmaṃ āniṣpatteḥ samabhyaset ॥ 2.76 ॥ |
| Haṁhaṁ - Hatha (yoga)
Vinā - without
Rāja-yogaḥ - royal yoga
Rāja-yogaṁ - the royal yoga
Vinā - without
Hathaḥ - Haṭha (yoga)
Na - not
Sidhyati - happens, succeeds
Tataḥ - therefore,
Yugmam - both, as a couple
Ā - to
Niṣpatteḥ - to perfection of Rāja yoga
Samabhyaset - practice || 76 || |
There is no success in Râja Yoga without Hatha Yoga, and there is no success in Hatha Yoga without Râja Yoga. One should, therefore, practise both of these (in tandem). |
