सम्यक्पद्मासनं बद्ध्वा समग्रीवोदरः सुधीः । मुखं संयम्य यत्नेन प्राणं घ्राणेन रेचयेत् ॥ २.६० ॥ |
samyakpadmāsanaṃ baddhvā samagrīvodaraḥ sudhīḥ । mukhaṃ saṃyamya yatnena prāṇaṃ ghrāṇena recayet ॥ 2.60 ॥ |
Samyak: in the correct way
Padma-āsanaṁ: Lotus posture
Baddhvā: bounded
Sama: just, is balnced
Grīvā: neck
Udaraḥ: belly
Su-dhīḥ: intelligents
Mukhaṁ: mouth
Saṁyamya: Closing
Yatnena: with power, with exertion
Prānaṁ: vital power, breath
Ghrāṇena: through the nose
Recayet: release, emptiness || 60 ||

The intelligent yogi holds Padmasana and holds the neck and belly open (the body is aligned), closes the mouth comfortably (the inhalation is described in the next verse) and forcefully exhales through the nostrils.
