तत्सिद्धये विधानज्ञाश्चित्रान्कुर्वन्ति कुम्भकान् ।
विचित्र कुम्भकाभ्यासाद्विचित्रां सिद्धिं आप्नुयात् ॥ २.४३ ॥ |
tatsiddhaye vidhānajñāścitrānkurvanti kumbhakān । vicitra kumbhakābhyāsādvicitrāṃ siddhiṃ āpnuyāt ॥ 2.43 ॥ |

Vidhāna-jñāḥ - those who know the rules, methods
Citrān - picture, image, pose,
Kurvanti - practicing, to do
Kumbhakān - retaining of inhaled breath
Vicitra - different
Kumbhaka - retaining of inhaled breath
Abhyāsāt - to practicing
Vicitrāṁ - various
Siddhim - professional
Āpnuyāt - can reach, can achieve || 43 ||

Professional masters who have the knowledge practice various types of Kumbhakas to achieve that state (mnonmaní). Through that (kumbhaka), a yogi attains wonderful success.
