अथ मनोन्मनी
मारुते मध्यसंचारे मनःस्थैर्यं प्रजायते । यो मनःसुस्थिरीभावः सैवावस्था मनोन्मनी ॥ २.४२ ॥ |

mārute madhyasaṃcāre manaḥsthairyaṃ prajāyate । yo manaḥsusthirībhāvaḥ saivāvasthā manonmanī ॥ 2.42 ॥

Madhya - middle
Sañcāre - flows, transmit
Manas - the Spirit
Sthairyaṁ - immobility
Prajāyate - arises, to come up
Yaḥ - what
Manaḥ - the spirit
Su-sthirī-bhāvaḥ - well stable state
Sā - this
Eva - certainly
Avasthā - state
Mana-unmanī - beyond the mind (Manonmani) || 42 ||

The mind becomes steady, when the Vayu moves freely through the middle of the Sushumna (spinal cord). Calmness and stability of mind is called the Manonmanî stage.
