| Bhagavadgíta,-6. ātmasaṃyamayogaḥ आत्मसंयमयोगः , (S.-1, Ch.-6, V.-15) |
युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी नियतमानसः ।शान्तिं निर्वाणपरमां मत्संस्थामधिगच्छति ॥ ६-१५॥ |
yuñjannevaṃ sadātmānaṃ yogī niyatamānasaḥ । śāntiṃ nirvāṇaparamāṃ matsaṃsthāmadhigacchati ॥ 6-15॥ |
युञ्जन्न = yuñjann (m. nom. sg. pro act. participle *yuj), disciplining, concentrating.; एवम = evam, thus.; सदा = sadā (adv.), always, perpetually.; आत्मानं = ātmānaṃ (m. acc. sg.), himself.; योगी = yogī (m. nom. sg.), yogin.; नियतमानसः = niyatamānasaḥ (m. gen. sg.), of subdued mind, (as BV cpd.) whose mind is sub-dued.; शान्तिं = śāntiṃ (f. acc. sg.), peace, tranquility.; निर्वाण = nirvāṇa (extinction of the self in Brahman.; परमां = paramāṃ (f. acc. sg.), highest, supreme. (nirvāṇaparamāṃ, f. acc. sg. KD cpd., nir-vana supreme.); मत्संस्थाम = matsaṃsthām (f. acc. sg.), "me together standing," union with me.; अधिगच्छति = adhigacchati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. adhi *gam), he attains, he goes. |
In this way, constantly engaging the mind in the form of the Lord, the yogi of subdued mind, attains the Supreme eternal peace residing in Me. ||6-15||
